Today, right here in America, there are 120,000 children lingering in foster care waiting and dreaming of a forever family. All of us share in the responsibility to assure these children have a loving and permanent home. For our part, MLB Umpires are teaming up with The Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption to support the efforts of their recruiters who work tirelessly to find forever families for waiting children.
BLUE for Kids is organizing 4-person teams to Get Stuffed and Run for Kids in the Cincinnati Flying Pig Marathon on May 4, 2008. Runners raise funds and then complete the 26.2-mile course in a relay fashion while carrying Build-A-Bear Workshop Curly Teddy Bears sporting bear-sized clothing outfits. Additionally, a silent auction will take place in the days leading up to the race and conclude when our teams finish the run.
The online auction will run from April 1 to April 30, 2008, with the live event taking place on May 4, 2008. Auction items include unique experiences such as lunch and golf with celebrities, game tickets and much more. So help us spread the word about the auction - Together, it's a call we can't miss!
